We need to run drivebys of the Locker Room and keep sending messages to people still posting there to lure them away until that place dries up into oblivion.
I would, but I've been banned....for asking a few questions. Which is not the same as questioning the Gestapo.

Office Rookie of The Year: 2002. Impressive.
Accolades garner respect, so I can see why she might have Gene's ear.
Also, who is Gene?

A few years ago, when the LR started being moderated like the USSR, a few people came over here and vented about Warchant. A few of the mods from there came over here, saw the posts on HROT badmouthing them, and banned them from Warchant. That place has a history of ruling with an iron fist. I came over here about 2-3 years ago and never looked back.

Is it time to build the HROT wall? Can’t just have these migrants coming here. Mr. Kakert can we fund this?

Yea, as I posted in our inaugural invasion thread, why would a busy realtor want to be a mod? She comes across as that kid that sat in the front row in class and always asked detailed questions right before the bell.

What was posted that so offended her that Genie Weenie closed the LR?
That's what I want to know. The new person sure does hold some clout apparently.
The only time I remember here in the LR was last year and it was either a post about looking for a Nole to help with something business related or a job opening.
The thread went as expected and she or someone deleted it and within a day or two the Seminole Networking board was created. The creation of this board came with a stern warning from NoleSoul about wise cracks. Considering he white nighted RealtyNole in that situation and was who stopped jreeds teacher threads, he might be the person that got it shut down.

Nothing worse than drive by moderating. Like a referee, a good mod needs to be around and understand the flow of the game and the players. NoleSoul was the Jerry Falwell of moderators and if another mod who never even posted got torqued enough to get the place shut down, then we’re all better off.
But maybe we should just let it go at this point. “Lake City FL eating recs” has been the first or second post for two days now. They got what they wanted.

I quit posting there long ago but occasionally I’d drive by and see how it was going. That place was always on lockdown. I felt like I was stepping into the Soup Nazi’s store, “lobster bisque [carefully placed money on counter and quickly slides left].”
For giggles, I’d check out some of the Locker threads and laugh at the absurdity of locking them on an Off Topic board. Restaurant recommendations were locked. Any general discussion of sports was locked. Any hint of religion or politics was locked. Current news events were ultimately locked. It went on and on. I’m seriously not aware of what WAS permitted. When I’d compare it to the old days where it was all lively discussion and thousands of posts a day, it was barely functional anymore.
I’m convinced this was by design. They always hated that board. JMG was a mod many years ago and he let us do our thing with regular boundaries. Then Mad cow was the first to arbitrarily rule with subjective rulings. He was the first to enjoy his power trip and was the beginning of the end for that place. Occasionally Dot would come in and tell us how much we sucked and we better behave or there would be consequences. He always came across so demeaning. Eventually I figured I didn’t want to frequent a business who treated its customers like that so I left.
