If mental health is playing a role in this, I think thats even more of a reason not to take the Lakers job. Thats a ton of stress that doesnt exist in Storrs.

He can buy his own psychiatrist though

Not if he can retire after 5 years of coaching the Lakers.

Thibs doesn’t exactly coddle his players and he’s done fine. Lebron would be fine with Hurley if they win and gets him another ring.

Except Thibodeau was not coaching James but rather players who subjugated their personal egos for the team. My last comment on James because while I acknowledge his undeniable talents there is little else about him I admire, others may certainly disagree.

That's the point I was going to make Logen. Sure Hurley could work in the NBA. But in my opinion would need the right type of guys who are selfless and willing to buy in.

You gotta remember that much of the college game is recruiting and dealing with immaturity behind the scenes. That can get tiring very quickly. I don't know if they ever said it but you have to think that the new recruiting landscape had a lot to do with Jay Wright, Coach K and Roy Williams all retiring around the same time.

NBA is a whole different game and much more of a "6 month job" compared to college.

We have one spot left right?

Should we wait 5 days and see if Uconn has some desertions, both transfers and recruits? New coach means no sit period and they can enter the portal now (right?)

Maybe we just take a beat for a minute and see what happens to fill our last spot, instead of getting desperate?

Jay Wright turned it down.

Hurley will be the highest paid coach in the NBA, $20M for 5 years, that will make his great grand kids thank him, if he is smart with his investments.

He can buy his parents a beautiful home in Montecito so they can be near their grandkids and not too far from Bobby and his brood (for now). Maybe he even hires Bobby as an assistant coach.

I see this happening. But I am crying my eyes out for Yukon if it happens.

When Danny gets to the Lakers facility, "Hey everyone, theres this player who I coached against in the Big East who I think is a hidden gem and will be a great pick for us in the 2nd round".

Lakers brass, "Sorry Danny. You will have to draft lebrons kid".

Then in season in a tight game, Lebron whispers in Hurleys ear, "You have only played Bronny 7 minutes tonight. Put him the f#&k in now!"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA.

If this happens, Yukon's chances for a "ThreePeat" go way down, and that accomplishment would had boosted the league up even higher. College BB doesn't have repeats very often and no ThreePeats since the Alcindor/Walton UCLA dynasties

Bobby.........offered as an assistant coach to his younger brother, who he can still probably beat 11-0 in the driveway, but can't touch him as a HC
